Carlo Ratti

Professor of Urban Technologies and Planning at MIT

MIT Director, SENSEable City Lab. He has co-authored over 500 publications and holds several patents. His work has been exhibited worldwide at venues such as the Venice Biennale, the Design Museum in Barcelona, the Science Museum in London, and The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Two of his projects – the Digital Water Pavilion and the Copenhagen Wheel – have been included by TIME Magazine in the list of the ‘Best Inventions of the Year’.

Anders Wijkman

Swedish opinion leader and author

Chairman of the Governing Board of Climate-KIC – a major public-private partnership at EU level for the promotion of innovation for a low-carbon society. Member of the International Resource Panel (IRP) – a UN appointed expert body. Chairman of the Program Committee of the Swedish Climate Research Program (FORMAS). Chair Circular Sweden. Former Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations. Former Member of the European Parliament. Former Secretary General of the Swedish Red Cross.

Robin Teigland

Professor in Strategy and Management of Digitalization, Chalmers

 

Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. Prior to Chalmers, Robin was Professor of Business Administration, with a specialization in Strategic Information Systems Management at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). Director of Ocean Data Factory Sweden that promotes innovation based on the application of AI to ocean data. Principal Investigator (PI) for research projects related to digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.

Munmun De Choudhury

Associate Professor in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech

Professor De Choudhury is affiliated with the GVU Center and her research interests are in the area of computational social science, wherein she is interested in questions around making sense of human behavior as manifested via our online social footprints. She is motivated by how the availability of large-scale online social data, coupled with computational methods can help us answer fundamental questions relating to our social lives, particularly our health and well-being.

Geraldine Fitzpatrick

Professor of Technology Design and Assessment at TU Wien

ACM Distinguished Scientist and IFIP TC-13 Pioneer Award recipient. Previously, Director of the Interact Lab at the Uni of Sussex, UX consultant and Senior Manager at Sapient London, and Snr Researcher at the Distributed Systems Technology Centre (DSTC) and Center for Online Health in Australia. Her research is at the intersection of social and computer sciences to support social interaction using mobile, tangible and sensor-based technologies in everyday contexts.

 

Mischa Dohler

Professor in Wireless Communications at King’s College London

He is a Fellow of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET); and a Distinguished Member of Harvard Square Leaders Excellence. He is a serial entrepreneur with 5 companies; composer & pianist with 5 albums on Spotify/iTunes; and fluent in 6 languages. He acts as policy advisor on issues related to digital, skills and education.

 

Raffaello D’Andrea

Professor of Dynamic systems and control at ETH Zurich

Raffaello D'Andrea is the founder and CEO of Verity, the world leader in autonomous indoor drones, and a professor at ETH Zurich. He co-founded industrial automation company Kiva Systems, which was acquired by Amazon in 2012 and later rebranded as Amazon Robotics. In 2013 he co-founded RoboGlobal, an organization that introduced the world’s first Robotics and AI Exchange Traded Fund.
In 2020, D’Andrea was inducted into the U.S. National Inventors Hall of Fame and was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.

Robin R Murphy

Raytheon Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University

 

Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and ACM. She is the director of the Humanitarian Robotics and AI Laboratory, formerly the Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue (CRASAR), which is now a nonprofit. She is also a co-founder of the field of disaster robotics and founder Roboticists Without Borders. Her research interests are artificial intelligence as applied to disasters and "routine emergencies" (also called emergency informatics).
